“Unclean and evil-smelling things” (belief, desire, effort and reliance on the pairs of opposites) often do not dissolve without first ‘coming through’ — usually as some form of lack, limitation, discord or even disease.

It is as dirt in clothes first becomes more visible and tangible as it is being washed out, so belief, being ‘washed out’ by the light of spirit often first becomes more visible and tangible than it was before we lifted in spiritual awareness.

Hence, very often, for most if not all of us, each phase of spiritual lifting and purifying is accompanied by a temporary troublesome experience. It is nothing to be concerned about. It is natural and good.
