Consciousness is. Consciousness is not conscious of people, things, places, activities, amounts. Consciousness is itself the infinity of people, things, places, activities, amounts.
If we observe our life through the lens of belief it appears as if we are “here” and every other person and thing is “out there,” separate and different from ourselves. Consciousness does not exist within or even as “us,” a substance or faculty “we” use to be conscious with. There is no “us” or “them” or “it”; there is only God, consciousness, the one omnipresent whole.
Our sense of separation from oneness is why, to begin with, we seek our solutions out there. If our body appears to be sick we seek a way of providing it with the health it needs. If our family appears to need love or if our bank account appears to need greater supply, we seek to provide these good things to fix or harmonize the its of family and bank account, and we fail because there are no its of their own selves; there is only consciousness.
